Tri-Cities Renters United
Tri-Cities Renters United is a working group affiliation between Tri-Cities Mutual Aid & Solidarity Network and Tennessee Renters United. Our goal is empowering renters in the Tri-Cities through community building, mutual aid, and proactive political change to promote self-advocacy for just & obtainable housing.
why we exist
The majority of Tri-Cities residents are renters, but our voices are still drowned out by developers, landlords, and property owners. Renters are community members as much as anyone else, and our problems are community problems. We can work together to make change happen, because our voices are louder together.
what we do
We will continue to build community and solidarity around renters' issues and find ways to make change happen
- We have been holding listening sessions to hear what problems our neighbors are facing
- We have been facilitating Know Your Rights workshops around the Tri-Cities
- We hold community potlucks where we can come together around shared experience over good food
- We have participated in broader Tennessee Renters United calls and workshops, and organized with them for a Day on the Hill in Nashville
- We have partnered with local realtors and experts to share a Renter to Homeowner workshop to discuss accessible options in terms of ownership
