We're planning a celebration of community care, and we'd love to see you there!

Tri-Cities Mutual Aid has traditionally held events at the bookends of summer around two important labor related holidays, May Day and Labor Day. This may event is a celebration of community care. We'd love to collaborate with any/all community members interested in sharing skills, services, or activities! It's a fundraiser of sorts, or a supply drive, but no one is to be turned away for lack of funds or supplies.

Date: May 3rd, 2025, exact timing tbd
Location: Carver Park in Johnson City
Vision: Celebrating community care, dreaming what's possible, making those dreams real even in small ways

We have the basketball court pavilion reserved for the day, we have some local bands & performers pending confirmation.

We'll have a bit of a free store market, our usual supplies as well as seeds & garden starts, and we'll be decorating banners we can use at our free store on future dates. Our usual free store rules apply to the day, we are not allowing selling or spiritual transactions to be present at our free store. Barter and trade are ok in the spirit of reciprocity.

We'll have food from a few local restaurants, we're getting catering orders planned and prioritizing local immigrant, Black, Indigenous and trans owned businesses, because that's the main thing we'll be directly paying for that day and we want to prioritize that direct support for some of the most fiscally disenfranchised folks in our community.

We're inviting local folks/groups on any scale to table with a focus on interactivity, hoping to facilitate activities like skillshares, yard games, repair cafe, services you feel comfortable sharing for free and trade.

We are also going to have tip/donation jars for musicians & tablers, as well as each musician & tabler can pick a type of supply that they would like people to bring for the free store. We are working out logistics of being able to give people change if they want to tip but don't have cash on hand.

If you are interested in collaborating, please reach out using the form above! We'd love to see you there.
